Deep Night Season 9: Easter Seever

Dale rolls his personal boulders out of the way as he pays a visit to his family for an annual celebratory spring meal. He travels by train to Pennsylvania for an all-Seever Easter spectacular that, true to form, doesn’t go quite as planned. As Galinda practices healing on some of the outer-most branches of the Seever family tree, Dale mingles with cousins and neighbors, in anticipation of a main course that is taking longer than usual. Aunt Dem and Uncle Duck attempt to make the most it and Dale’s mind wanders as he considers the language of bats; the base instincts of our holiest figures; and the lingering appeal of loaf-shaped meats. After the festivities, Dale returns to Brooklyn via the train and reflects on the simple pleasures of riding through New York in a rickety cab on a warm night with the windows down.

Dale makes a special appearance on Tuesday, April 25th at Jalopy in Brooklyn as part of a benefit for PS29. Come by 8-10pm and see a whole lot of awkward on one tiny stage! Parents. With talents! The next Deep Night live is happening on Weds, May 10th at 8pm at the Slipper Room in NYC. Dale’s guests will be comedian Maeve Higgins (Maeve in America, Star Talk); NY Times Comedy Critic Jason Zinoman (Letterman: The Last Giant of Late Night); and comedian/talk show host, Ike Ufomadu (Ike Night/ Night Cap by Ike). Plus music from Cornelius Loy! Tickets available $12/10 here: http://www.slipperroom.com/event/1408668-guest-event-deep-night-dale-new-york/.
