Pre-Show Warm Up: Get to Know Dale’s Sketchfest Guests

FOLKS! In a few short days, Dale boards a flying machine bound for San Francisco to take part in the world’s greatest comedy festival, SF SKETCHFEST! He could not be more excited to bring you DEEP NIGHT WITH DALE SEEVER – an all-new hour of entertainment with fantastic guests, video clips, and music from the singular talents of DJ Hootsy (aka Jon Wolanske). It’s a double bill with Killing My Lobster, so make an entire evening of it, Tuesday, January 19th at 8pm at the Eureka Theater for just $20. Get tickets here.

So you know what you’re in for – why not get to know my amazing guests for the evening, each making their DEEP NIGHT WITH DALE debuts. First up, Ariel Waldman! Ariel is the founder of Spacehack.org, a directory of ways to participate in space exploration, and the global director of Science Hack Day, a 20-countries-and-growing grassroots endeavor to make things with science. She is the author of What’s It Like in Space?: Stories from Astronauts Who’ve Been There (Chronicle Books, 2016). Ariel is also the co-author of a congressionally-requested National Academy of Sciences study on the future of human spaceflight. She sits on the council for NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC), a program that nurtures radical, sci-fi-esque ideas that could transform future space missions. In 2013, Ariel received an honor from the White House for being a Champion of Change in citizen science. THE WHITE HOUSE!!!

Next, taking us back on a journey through the indy music scene of the late 90s and early aughts, it’s comedy and music’s own, George Chen. George Chen was a musician, writer, and event organizer before finding a place in standup comedy. The past few years have seen him establishing the beloved weekly showcase Cynic Cave at Lost Weekend Video in San Francisco. The anachronistic video store is also home to the monthly multimedia comedy show Talkies. George – let’s get into it!

And our dear friend, Andy Wright. Andy Wright is a freelance writer and editor based in San Francisco. Her work on such diverse topics as radionics, dinosaur hoarding, modern hermits, goat men and wild terriers has appeared in Modern Farmer, The Bay Citizen, The New York Times, Atlas Obscura, Popular Mechanics, and SF Weekly. Dale reads all those things!!
